Government includes domestic workers and credit freelancers for COVID-19

These people will make a monthly payment of 823.70 pesos after the three-month grace period on loans of 25 thousand pesos. The Ministry of Economy published on Wednesday a series of modifications in the agreement for the Operation of the Financial Support Program for Family Micro-enterprises by COVID-19, which now includes domestic workers and freelancers. The document, published in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF), modifies the second guideline, in its section IX on micro-entrepreneurs.

For domestic workers, the document establishes that they are “those people who are incorporated voluntarily to the compulsory regime referred to in article 13 of the Social Security Law, under the insurance modality 34 Domestic Workers or in the Pilot Program for Domestic Workers “. In the case of independent workers, it is explained that they are those who “have voluntarily joined the compulsory regime referred to in article 13 of the Social Security Law, under the 44 insurance modality”. If these workers receive one of the 25 thousand pesos credits established by the Government, they will make a monthly payment of 823.70 pesos after the three months of grace included in the credits. This payment also applies to beneficiaries of loans in their family microenterprise modality.

In the case of Solidarity Support to the Word for the formal sector, the monthly payments are as follows: -823.70 pesos for companies with one to 10 employees -835 pesos for companies with 11 to 20 employees -846.50 pesos for firms from 21 to 50 employees -869.50 pesos for projects with more than 50 employees
